Dispatcher Information

The University of New Mexico Police Department (UNM PD) employs 7 dispatchers and 1 supervisor. Dispatchers are New Mexico State certified Public Safety Telecommunicators. They complete over 120 hours of training at the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Training Academy, as well as a 12 week Field Training Program.  Dispatchers are responsible for answering 911 calls, dispatching Police and Campus Security Officers, as well as providing NCIC and NMLETS information to Police Officers in the field.  Dispatchers are an integral part of our team and enjoy a rewarding but challenging career at UNM.
