The men and women of the UNM Police Department are shocked and devastated to learn of the line of duty death of former UNM Officer Germaine Casey. During his two year tenure Officer Casey built relationships in the department that continue to this day. He was a man of integrity and always demonstrated initiative. He received numerous letters of appreciation, and commendations from supervisors and from the public. The UNM Police Department extends sincere condolences to Officer Casey's family, and to the men and women of the Rio Rancho Department of Public Safety.
