The UNM Police Department along with UNM Security, UNM Student Patrol, and The Residence Life Security team work together to ensure the safety of our community. Here are some of the services that are offered:- Security Escorts (both by vehicle and walking)
- Opening and securing of buildings
- Lost and Found
- Fingerprinting
- Bicycle Registration and engraving
- Jump-starts
Services offered by UNM Security
Security Escorts: UNM Security offers escort services within a one mile radius of UNM campus 24-hours a day. Escorts are offered either by foot or vehicle. Escorts are offered to UNM students, faculty, staff and visitors. When calling for an escort please provide your name and the pick-up and drop-off locations. Please have your identification ready when the escort arrives. For escorts call 277-2241 (UNM Police) or 277-7233 ( UNM Student Patrol) .
Jump-Starts:
If you find the battery of your vehicle has depleated, UNM Security can assist your vehicle with a jump-start. Call 277-2241 for help and be sure to give your name, location and description of your vehicle. Leaving the hood of the vehicle up will also be helpful to the security officer when locating your vehicle.
Other Services Offered
Fingerprinting: You can obtain fingerprinting services from the fingerprinting office located inside the UNM Police Department. For more information please call 277-0081.

Bicycle Registration:
The police department periodically sets up bicycle registration booths on campus with uniformed police officers who will assist you with properly registering your bicycle. However, you can register your bicycle at any other time as well. Come over to the UNM Police station and fill out a card to register your bicycle. For more information call 277-0081. Lost and Found:Sometimes things are lost and someone finds it and turns it in to us. Our lost and found office will try to find the rightful owner and secure it until it can be claimed.
